A man

A man is strong

A man is one who tries his best

When a man is faced with an issue, he doesn't crumble

Instead, he stands tall

A man is one who cares and is willing to show it when necessary

A man can be considerate, kind, compassionate, and gentle,

But can still be strong, stern, and steadfast

A man holds his ground, and does not budge until it is wise for him to do so

When a man has a job to do, his aim is to do it as effectively and efficiently as possible

And usually, when he is done, if the time and situation permits, he looks at his work and tries to make it better

A man takes care of his family as best as he can, trying to provide all needs, and fulfill some wants

A man will sacrifice himself for the greater cause, especially when it involves someone dear to his heart

A man has flaws

A man sometimes will make mistakes; He is human

He is not perfect

There is only One perfect man: Jesus Christ, the One we all strive to emulate

But despite his flaws, a man still tries his best

A man learns

A man learns from his mistakes

A man demands respect through his words and actions when he knows it is due, and he finds no need to be condescending or purposefully hurtful in doing it

But many times, he will not need to demand his respect, because it will be readily given to him

If a man is needed, when possible and feasible, he tries his best to show up; on time and ready to perform

A man tries to be wise in his decision making

A man controls what is under his authority, but he tries to control it in a way that is least harmful, not only to him, but to all involved, while still staying effective and efficient in his methods

The Bible says let every man have a woman, and every woman have a man, because it is a good thing

A man cares for his woman the way he knows best for her, and vice versa

He shows her love

He shows her affection

He shows her strength

Her shows her a side of him that not many people see

But no one sees it quite the way she does

Because he shows her the depths of this side of him, mainly because she helps to bring it out so well

A man is willing to step aside to let someone else shine

A man receives credit humbly, and is glad and willing to give credit when and where it is due

A man's goal is not always to better himself

Many times, he tries to lift up those around him as well

A man is not defined by what he wears or how much money he has

Rather, he is defined by the way he thinks, the words he speaks, the choices he makes, the lessons he learns...his whole perspective of life as he knows it.

I say this not to build up any person in particular, including myself, because at times I fall short of some of these descriptions, as all men do. Falling short of certain things at times does not make you any less of a man. It just makes you more of a human. It's not the fact that you fall short, it's how many times you fall short and what you fall short on that can make you less of a "good" man. But don't mistake this for being a less valued person, because no man is greater than another, except that of Jesus Christ. We are all equal as men, and our central goals should be the same. We all have our different methods but that is the nature of man…each is made differently.

I say this solely to voice my thoughts on a matter.
